The self-flying selfie camera

Because I run a YouTube channel with a moderate number of subscribers (currently around 30k) I occasionally get offered items to 'test'. That word is often code for "we'll send you some free swag if you make a video about it and post it on your channel". Trouble is, I take this sort of thing seriously. Usually, I say "No thanks". I wouldn't have room for all the eBikes I've been offered, not to mention glasses, rear lights and all manner of unrelated items. This has hugely impressed me. Just watch this single video and you'll see why. To the items that grab my attention, I reply along the lines of, "I will test it and post my honest opinion on my channel. I won't sign any contract, I won't guarantee the length of a video, and I won't guarantee to only say good things". Quite a few disappear that that point. Torino Nice Rally 3 - Kit List, What Worked, What Didn't

I cycled the Torino Nice Rally in September 2022. I took ten days to complete my ride, which was deliberately slow, as no one ever returned from such an amazing adventure saying "I wish I'd gone faster", it was always the reverse. The Caledonia Way

The Caledonia Way is a somewhat unusual long distance cycling route. While it's mostly on minor roads, you can't ride the whole thing on a road bike. There are at least three sections where it heads into distinctly off-road territory. Not full mountain bike country, but rough enough to give anyone on a 23-25mm skinny tyre a hard time with skids and pinch flats. Touring 28mm and upwards would be fine. The other curious thing is that the National Cycling Network seems to dis-own a few sections. NCN78 signs are rare between Campbeltown and Oban, confined to the few off-road parts which aren't the Caledonian Canal towpath. If that wasn't confusing enough, at Fort William the Caledonia Way acquires a second name, and for part of this final section it's better known as the Great Glen Way.
